Where Is Santa Right Now?

🎅 Santa Status

Checking Santa’s status…

Where is Santa right now? For most of the year he is at the North Pole — on Christmas Eve, follow his sleigh live with the two official Santa trackers below.

A quick honest note: this site does not run its own live tracker. Santa’s sleigh moves fast on Christmas Eve, and the official trackers do it best on the night — so we point you straight to them.

The Two Official Santa Trackers

NORAD Tracks Santa

NORAD has tracked Santa since 1955, after a misprinted advert sent children calling a military phone line instead of Santa — and the people who answered played along. It has followed his sleigh every Christmas Eve since, with a map, videos and a countdown.

Google Santa Tracker

Google’s Santa Tracker opens a village of festive games in December, then shows a live map of Santa’s journey around the world on December 24. It is a lovely one to open with children on Christmas Eve.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I track Santa live on this site?

No. This site does not run its own live tracker. The Santa Status card above simply tells you where Santa is in general terms, based on today’s date. For a live sleigh map on Christmas Eve, use one of the two official trackers above.

When is the best time to check the trackers?

On December 24, when Santa sets off on his journey. Before then, the trackers show countdowns, games and festive activities while everyone waits.
